"Share the Wealth"...
I could be wrong but if you believe in America then you probably believe in the draft during wartime or at least jury duty as a civil responsibility... We do these things based on a greater need. Defending our country has to happen for us to maintain or freedom at times. Sometimes that means good men must die to stop bad men. Serving as a juror is a duty because when someone does something bad or even just stupid then we must give our own time away, regardless of whether or not that time was going to be spent doing something totally productive for society or even the world, in order the sort through other's mistakes so we can maintain a fair judicial system. Maybe we didn't start the war... We didn't make the mistakes... THEY did... It doesn't matter... WE are paying for it because we must to keep our country functioning fairly. So why is it so hard for us to accept that if our government has a 10 TRILLION dollar debt or whatever that we should have to pay OUR money in taxes to help the economy... I mean really we are doing it for ourselves in the long run aren't we?... Hmmm...
Now, should the people with MORE money pay MORE taxes?... I dunno you tell me. I'm not saying I agree with that... Just thinking out loud...

On a similar note... the "Share the Wealth" mentality becomes absolute hypocrisy to me when a person supports abortion. Why? Because that mentality saying that we ARE responsible for our fellow man regardless of the REASON they are in need. Sure, half of this plan will look great on paper because we could be giving to people who have honestly just been less fortunate than us in health or wealth. But... Potentially, we are paying for frivolous people's debt... taking care of careless drunk drivers' medical bills... Promiscuous people's STD treatment??? And yet the same person that believes in ALL that claims it's a person's right to not be responsible for an INNOCENT baby's life?! Just ridiculous... Who are you trying to look good for??? Or did you just not think it through? Am I wrong? Please tell me if I am.

So... two different sides on that thought...
FYI, I DO think we are responsible for our fellow man... It's what Jesus preached; Pure... (gulp)... "socialism???"

As i sit an listen to conversations I have with friends. I can't help but wonder about what is being said... the opinions, the understanding, and the doctrine... Where are we learning these things. I act a certain way in a relationship with a girl. With every new attempt I am basing many steps I take in it on a past one. If a child is abused by his father does he then grow up believing that a father is a bad thing? If I get in a car wreck will I be more cautious on the road? If I am hurt because I open up do I learn to close myself off? I wonder how many of the truths we learn from this messed up world conflict with what God has designed for his children? If I pray for someone with cancer and they die what have I decided about prayer? What does God say about it?... Which do I believe?... Or, more importantly, which do I live by?...

I believe with all my heart in the word of God. He is the realest real I know. Just thought I should clear that up. I feel that me and many of my Christian friends live by standards that they form extra biblically... I said up there that God is the realest reality I know but He's also the most often forgotten. The veil of "perception" is all too sobering for us to think that something like what God says can really CAN right?

This blog was meant to be vague. I'd hoped I could more capture of what I'm feeling right now that the tangible thoughts... I want to remember... I want to remember how wrong everything seems without my loving Father telling me what is what. I'll be honest it could be just that I grow tired off hearing EVERYONE'S opinions on stuff and yet see how nothing seems to work right... Not many lives seem to live up to what Christ has called us too. Do I? No way. I just yearn for something more...

I saw that a friend had put that as the start page in his browser... I added it... I hadn't realized how hungry I was for His word and forgotten how satisfying it is to take in... I pause to read the scriptures everytime they pop up. I feel like God has taken advantage of that small window in a big way. His words stop me in my tracks...

Did scratch tracks last week. (just raw acoustic and vocals strickly for the purpose of arrangement) Been doing the first set of drums the last two days with our good friend, the amazing Jonathan Camey. We couldn't be more pleased with how a loves on those skinz yall... We have fun making music...
